Review for Hot Fuzz

How do you feel about people from rural areas? Do they have the same expectations as people from the urban areas?
Hot fuzz is a hybrid genre which consists of action and comedy. This has been used in the film to break tension and have more viewers for the film as usually male people would watch an action film.
The Three Flavours Cornetto trilogy (also known as the Cornetto trilogy or the Blood and Ice Cream trilogy) is a series of comedic genre films directed by Edgar Wright, written by Wright and Simon Pegg, produced by Nira Park, and starring Pegg and Nick Frost. The trilogy consists of Shaun of the Dead (2004), Hot Fuzz (2007), and The World's End (2013).
Each film in the trilogy is connected to a Cornetto ice cream, with a Cornetto of the appropriate flavour appearing in each film. Shaun of the Dead features a strawberry-flavoured Cornetto, which signifies the film's bloody and gory elements, Hot Fuzz includes the blue original Cornetto, to signify the police element to the film, and The World's End features the green mint chocolate chip flavour in a nod to aliens and science fiction. While the first two films include appearances of the ice cream itself, the last incorporates only the appearance of the wrapper. The name originates from a "silly joke" during the promotion of Hot Fuzz, when somebody pointed the Cornetto connection out to Wright.
One of the conventions used which had complements the movie is the use of intertextuality. This means where a text alludes to or references another text. This convention has been used throughout the film.
One of the main reasons why I liked this movie is because it gives you hints about the murderer. This made me want to watch more and find out what happens next. There are also a series of false endings which have the audience on the edge of their seats multiple times, so basically the whole film in one big cliff-hanger.

Overall, I have enjoyed the film Hot Fuzz but I found it quite difficult to follow due to the fast paced editing. This movie would be for aged 15- 20 as people who are young than 15 wouldn’t understand and it would be inappropriate due to language and violence used and it wouldn’t be above as usually people above that age would not want to watch a movie like.

Listerine Advert Analysis

Listerine Advert Analysis

1. It promotes the Listerine product and it is a mouthwash substance.
2. it tells us that it reduces plaque.
3. The adverts show us women in a negative way, which means that it is targeted for women.
4. It is appealing to women as it is the need for aesthetic sensations, which means that if women were going to start using Listerine, they would be able to attract men.
5. it uses facts to persuade women to buy the product. The facts are used to persuade as most people would agree on something which has been  proven.
6. it showed us that people didn't represent women like men-no equality. They were treated lower than men.  7. I think that people did depicted  in this ad to represent typical people form the 1920s, because in those days many people were stereotypical to women and this what we would expect if were to live in the 1920s.

Positive and Negative Representation

This advert represents women in a negative way. The slogan"You mean a woman can open it?" suggests that anyperson could open the bottle. This tells us that in the 1950's, women were treated as weak and needy. This would be targeted for both male and espically female. This advert is targete differently to men as it wouldnt have this slogan for a advert targeted for male. Stereotypically speaking, women are not treated as men-equality.

This advert represents women in a positve way. this is because "rinso" is for the use of washing machine. This is a positive advert as women such as house wives would be usually do launadry. This would be targeted for women as they would be more concern with this than men.

Advertising Appeals

This is different to the other sprite because the other sprite uses the need for sex appeal, but this sprite advert uses to need for achieve. This is because the slogan"MAKE YOUR MOVE, "OBEY YOUR THIRST" indicates that you must drink. This would be targeted for young teenagers as the person in the advert is a teenager.
